Practice
Julia A. Garver is of counsel, concentrating her practice in general business law, securities law matters, and advising non-profit organizations.
Ms. Garver represents clients in all stages of business—from formation to sale or dissolution. She has advised clients on organizational issues, capital formation, general contract negotiations, licensing, executive compensation, transition and succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, employee-related matters, joint ventures, investment adviser and broker-dealer regulation and venture capital transactions, among other matters.
Education
Ms. Garver graduated from the University of Rochester summa cum laude with a B.A. degree, and received her J.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and Jurisprudence. In addition, Ms. Garver earned a Certificate in Visual Communications and Graphic Design from UCLA.
Professional Affiliations
Ms. Garver is a member of the Business Law Council of the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Community Service
She is currently a Board member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County, where she resides.
Previous Experience
Ms. Garver was a partner in the corporate department of the Rochester-based law firm of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP before joining Merzbach Law Office in 2001.
